CORVALLIS ART GUILD

It shall be the purpose of the Guild to promote art appreciation and a climate for the expression of art for its members and the community.

The Corvallis Art Guild was established in the mid 1940s to provide an opportunity for local artists to interact, improve skills, and exhibit their work. Today the membership includes both professional and recreational artists working in all fine art media. The common bond of the Guild is enthusiasm for creative expression plus a desire to nurture appreciation for original art in our community.
The Guild is a member of the Corvallis Arts Center and meets there monthly. Meetings include educational and informative programs. The Guild provides a monthly newsletter, sponsors workshops, and offers opportunities to exhibit. Membership is open to any interested person. To become an Exhibiting member three exhibit-ready works must be submitted to the jury committee.
The Guild provides a number of opportunities to display and sell member art work, usually with little or no commission fees. The biggest event of the year is the Clothesline Sale held every August on the Benton County Courthouse lawn. The 45 or more participating artists enjoy the interaction of their fellow artists and good community support. The Guild also has booths at da Vinci Days, Fall Festival and exhibits at many local venues on an ongoing basis.
