As A Docent:
The word "docent" comes from the Latin verb docere, meaning to teach. And that's what the ArtCentric Docents do. Their goal is to gain knowledge of the arts, to be informed about current exhibitions at the Arts Center, and to share their knowledge with others, either by leading tours on site or by taking works out to the schools.
In addition to an appreciation of the arts, Docents are required to be Corvallis Arts Center members, and pay an additional $10 Docent fee annually. They attend a business meeting of the Docents on the third Wednesday of the month and study art through monthly gallery talks, classes, trips to museums and studios, and give tours.
If you are interested in becoming a Docent, contact Curator Hester Coucke at (541) 754-1551.

As An Intern:

We are increasing our internship opportunities for Oregon State University and Linn-Benton Community College students and would also be interested in committed senior high school student interns. Our commitment to interns is to provide a diverse range of educational opportunities and training in a nonprofit arts setting. Our staff works closely with interns and cares about their personal and professional development.
In turn, most of our internships are project-based and require at least a one quarter internship. Many of our internships require a two to three quarter commitment. We need and expect interns to be responsible, committed to their internship, capable of both working independently and in a teamwork format, and have excellent follow through.
If you would like more information or have ideas for an internship, please contact Victoria Fridley, Executive Director, at (541) 754-1551.
